With a vision to invigorate the Traditional English pub concept, Paul Tomlinson and Dave Kersey opened their first Calgary location on December 4th, 2001.
A concept proving successful, the Toad quickly expanded into four locations and now operates in Airdrie, Red Deer, Calgary (Barlow), and Calgary (Shepard).

At each location, our Red Seal Chefs focus on providing fresh fare with excellent quality without compromising the authentic pub feel that our regulars have come to love. In addition to a globally inspired menu, our chefs create their own location-specific dishes, devising several signature items including our award winning smoked in-house brisket sandwich and smoked in-house brisket beef dip.
It’s Always Better on Top
In summer months, every location hosts our famous “Toad on Top” rooftop patio, each with their own specially designed food menu, and complete with a drink menu designed by some of our award winning bartenders.
